Milana Aranda Hits the Mat for SMC
Milana Aranda of Fort Dorchester High School in South Carolina has signed her NJCAA Letter of Intent to wrestle for the Roadrunners starting in Fall 2026.
Aranda was a Team Captain and the 2025-2026 Palmetto Sports Report Wrestler of the Year.
Head Coach Todd Hesson said of Aranda, "Milana has solid experience along with enthusiasm for the sport. She is looking forward to getting back on the mat and wrestling at the next level!"
Coach Lillie of Fort Dorchester added, "Milana is an amazingly strong-willed athlete! I am ecstatic to see her growth at the next level of wrestling!"
Aranda joins Cecilia Williams of Mason, Michigan; Elyse Morales of Decatur, Michigan; Olesya Mullins of Beaufort, South Carolina; and Harleigh Toepfer of Portage Northern, Michigan, in the 2026 SMC Women's Wrestling recruiting class.
In March, SMC Women's Wrestling traveled to Council Bluffs, Iowa, to compete in the NJCAA National Championships, where the team finished its inaugural season at #23 in the country.
On April 8, 2026, SMC held a public ceremony to dedicate a new 11,195 square-foot wing of the Charles O. Zollar Building that quadruples the space available to the men's and women's wrestling teams. It doubles the mat capacity for practice sessions and provides additional competition space for hosting conference and regional meets. The new facility also includes a dedicated fitness and warm-up area, coaches' offices, locker rooms and additional restrooms.
