Women's Wrestling Finishes Season at #23
Five members of SMC's inaugural women's wrestling team made their way to the NJCAA National Invitational in Council Bluffs, Iowa, last week. After the weekend, the Roadrunners finished 23rd of 30 teams particpating.
Overall, it was a learning experience against larger, more-established teams, but freshman Alyse Koss (competing in the 117-lb.-class) earned the program's first-ever win with a fall over Anna Rodriguez of Big Bend in the Consolation Round of 16.
Recruiting is open now for the 2026-2027 team, and the public dedication ceremony for SMC's brand-new wrestling is scheduled for 10am on Wednesday, April 6, on the Dowagiac Campus.
