VB Goes 2-1 at Roadrunner Crossover
The SMC Volleyball Team hosted the first Roadrunner Crossover this weekend, with squads from Lansing, McHenry, Mott and Spoon River making the trip to Dowagiac to compete in the round-robin affair in the 1st Source Bank Fieldhouse.
On Friday in their only match of the day, the home team was swept by Mott 25-15, 25-19, 25-18. "This was the toughest team we have played this season, except perhaps Parkland," said Head Coach Jenny Nate. 'It was a mental and physical challenge that will make us better tomorrow and more prepared for our conference matches next week. When I set up to host this crossover we did our best to bring in strong teams we don't normally see so that we can be pushed to continue playing at a higher level match after match. We have a lot to work on and were able to see some areas we can improve in. We are looking forward to taking this loss and using it for good as we head into two more tough matches tomorrow."
