Volleyball Earns W at Lansing
The Southwestern Michigan College Volleyball Team earned a huge road win over the Lansing Stars on Thursday to remain 4-0 in conference play, 12-3 overall, and tied for first in the conference.
"Tonight was a major accomplishment for us," said Head Coach Jenny Nate. "One of our goals for this season, besides winning every match, of course, is to do a better job with winning on the road. We have discussed it and worked on preparation. We came in tonight knowing that we would have to shut down their two main attackers, get our blocks going, and then use our entire offense to put the ball away and wear down their blockers. It took us that first set to adjust, and then we did a great job controlling the runs and energy the rest of the way. This match will also help us prepare for the tough competition we will face at our crossover this weekend, which will be preparation to face off with Kellogg next Tuesday."
