SMC Volleyball Defeats Marian Ancilla

Tuesday night in Plymouth, Indiana, the Southwestern Michigan College Volleyball Team defeated Marian Ancilla College 3-1 in opening conference match play 25-13, 21-25, 25-18, 25-18.

"We knew tonight was going to be a change of pace compared to the faster teams we have been playing," said Head Coach Jenny Nate. "Ancilla has some big blockers and solid attackers, but they run a slower offense which we knew was going to be an adjustment. I also think we were just a little tense as it was our first conference road match.  I am glad we got this win under our belts so that we can refocus on LMC on our home court on Thursday.  We know that we have to give our total focus to the match in front of us and our goals and the play on our side of the court.  We will hit practice tomorrow, speed things up, and focus hard on getting the first ball kill and controlling the tempo and energy of the match."

The Roadrunners are now 9-3 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
