SMC VB Ends Regular Season with W Over Glen Oaks
On Sophomore Night, in the final match of the regular season, Southwestern Michigan College Volleyball Team beat the Glen Oaks Vikings Tuesday evening in four sets 25-16, 25-19, 24-26, and 25-23.
"It was a battle," saif Head Coach Jenny Nate. "Glen Oaks was scrappy and had some solid attackers. We played aggressively and with good energy the first couple sets, and then got a little quiet the third set when Glen Oaks started playing tougher. I was happy with the way we kept our composure, but we have to learn to maintain the highest level of energy throughout every point - the entire match. We also played smart offensively, but I would like to see us swinging more as we head into the postseason tournament. It was a great sophomore night, and we appreciate the leadership the sophomores have displayed as they helped lead us to another winning record and trip to the postseason. Now, we will direct all of our energy on winning the play in match next Wednesday and are excited for the opportunity to make a run in the postseason."
The Roadrunners are 20-14 overall and finish 7-5 in the MCCAA Western Conference.
