SMC VB Beats Kellogg in Thriller at Home Opener

The SMC Volleyball Team beat Kellogg in a five set barn burner conference match 25-21, 24-26, 21-25, 25-16, and 15-10. "We knew tonight was going to be an evenly matched thriller," said Head Coach Jenny Nate. "We had to battle, remain calm, and work as a team using all six of our attackers to go at their block and wear them down.  I was proud of the grit and determination we exhibited - even when the points weren't going our way. We definitely made a positive shift in the fourth set and were finally able to control the runs to have a bigger point differential. Once we really put the pressure on, we ran with that momentum into the fifth set all the way to the final 15-10 win.  We will be back in the gym tomorrow in preparation to face KVCC on the road next Tuesday."

The Roadrunners are now 12-4 overall and 2-1 in conference play.
