SMC Volleyball Still Hunting First True Road Win

The Southwestern Michigan College volleyball team lost a 5 set match to Kellogg Community College on Thursday: 25-22, 17-25, 25-18, 20-25, 10-15. "We are down both of our setters due to injuries this week, and our right side hitter, Amara Palmer, stepped in to take on the role," said Coach Jenny Nate.  "She has done a phenomenal job adjusting, and when our energy is up, we trust the new lineup, and player changes all over the court, we control the runs, and can win sets. We just have to believe in ourselves and have faith in each other despite the changes and battle through some of the ups and downs that all teams face. This is a major mental game right now, and as we head into the second half of our conference play, we have to have a no excuse mentality, embrace changes, and play to win. We finally have a weekend off and a bye on Tuesday which is perfect timing so that the team can rest, get healthy, and come back strong and ready to fight."

The Roadrunners are now 9-12 overall and 3-4 in conference play.
