Olivia Robinson Picks the Roadrunners

Olivia Robinson, a guard from Hononegah Community High School in Illinois, has signed her NJCAA Letter of Intent to play women's basketball in 1st Source Bank Fieldhouse for Coach Jay Jenkins and the Roadrunners.

Coach Jason Brunke said of Robinson, "Olivia is a hard-working and fierce competitor with an explosive first step. She has a continuously developing skill set and is a great teammate who loves the game."

Coach Jenkins added, "Olivia has the determination to win. She brings a competitive edge that you want from a guard. I am excited to have her join the SMC family."

Robinson is a multi-sport athlete who won All-Conference honors in tennis this fall. She is the first member of SMC's 2024 Women's Basketball recruiting class.

After a 26-year hiatus, the SMC's Women's Basketball Team returned to NJCAA action in the newly-renovated 1st Source Bank Fieldhouse for the 2022-23 season. In their first year back, with an all-freshman team, the Roadrunners compiled an 18-9 overall record, went 8-4 in the MCCAA Western Conference, dominated at home (13-1), and qualified for the postseason Great Lakes District A Tournament.

This year, the team remains undefeated at 3-0, including a 52-point win over North Central Michigan in the inaugural Roadrunner Classic, and a 49-point win vs. the Bethel University Pilots.
