WBB Cooks Baker's Dozen at Home

The SMC women's basketball team took down the Glen Oaks Vikings by a score of 58-52 on Student-Athlete Recognition Day in the 1st Source Bank Fieldhouse, where the home team is 13-1 this season. The Roadrunners led by two at halftime, then turned on the burners in Q3 to push the lead to 11. SMC hit four 3-pointers in Q3 to withstand a run and send the Vikings back to Centreville with an L. The Roadrunners' clampdown defense held MCCAA Western Conference Player of the Week Hannah Outlaw of the Vikings to just 6 points on 15% shooting.

It was truly a team effort. Cameron Thomas again led the Roadrunners with 16 points and 6 rebounds. Macey Laubach added 15 points and 8 rebounds. Ariana Lemons had 12 points and 7 rebounds, while Tori Eldridge shot 67% from the field for 8 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.

Rivalry Week continues on Tuesday at LMC, when the Roadrunners (16-8 overall, 6-4 in conference) look to improve their seed in the Great Lakes District Tournament as they battle the Red Hawks in Benton Harbor at 5:30pm.
