Maddy Coleman Earns Scholarship for Women's Basketball

Madalyn Coleman, a current member of the 2022-23 SMC Women's Basketball team, has signed her NJCAA Letter Of Intent.  A graduate of St. Joseph High School in St. Joseph, MI, Maddy has been an important team member of this year's squad and was recently awarded an athletic scholarship for the spring semester.

 

"I am excited to extend a scholarship and Letter of Intent to Maddy," said Head Coach Jeanine Wasielewski. "She committed to our program over the summer break as a walk-on and has done absolutely everything asked of her as a member of our team.  She was one of the very first players in the gym at the start of Fall Semester and continues to put in the extra work to improve her basketball skills.  She excels in the classroom and is an important contributor in building our team culture.  Congratulations Maddy, you earned it!"

 

Coleman, a 5'5" freshman guard from Berrien Center, has played in four games for the 7-2 Roadrunners and has a free throw percentage of 100%, which is tied for the team lead with Khashya McCoy.
