Women's Basketball 1-1 This Week, Now 3-2
The SMC women's basketball team split a pair of games at the Dan Hull Memorial Classic in River Grove, Illinois.
On Friday vs. the Moraine Valley Cyclones, the Roadrunners trailed at the half 28-33, but had a strong 4th quarter to secure the 3-point victory, 64-61. SMC was led by Macey Laubach with 18 points, while Kamryn Patterson poured in 12 more.
In the second game of the Classic vs. the host NJCAA Division 1 Triton College Trojans, SMC put up a good fight but fell 59-77 after a slow start on offense at the beginning of the first and third quarters. Macey Laubach again led the Roadrunners with 17 points; Cameron Thomas had 10 and cleaned the glass with 8 rebounds.
Next up are the Great Lakes Christian Crusaders at 7:30 pm on November 16 in the back half of a home doubleheader, with the men going first at 5:30 vs. CBG Prep.
