SMC Women's Basketball Earns W in Debut

The SMC Roadrunners women's basketball team led tip to buzzer as they cruised to a 60-19 win over Andrews University in their season opener.

The home team shot 24-56 from the field (42.9%) and 5-10 from behind the arc. They were led by Macey Laubach, who had 13 points to go with 4 rebounds, 3 assists, a steal and a block. NaeNae Kirkland also poured in 13 for the Roadrunners and added 9 rebounds and a steal. 

SMC held Andrews to just 8-51 (15.7%) and only 2 3-pointers out of 17 attempts (11.8%). The Cardinals were led by guard Nadira Cousins with 8 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal.
