Men's XC Finishes 16th at NJCAA Championships

In unseasonably cold and snowy conditions at the Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge, Iowa, on Saturday, the SMC Men's Cross Country team finished 16th in the nation with a score of 505 at the NJCAA Division II Championship. 

Freshman Owen Saylor of Dowagiac led the team with a 24th place finish in 27:36.7 for the eight kilometers. Maguire Johnson was 70th in 28:33.0, Gavin Sehy 147th in 29:57.8, Zack Mitchell 155th in 30:10.4, Tyler Caruso 161st in 30:15.1, Jack Williams 181st in 30:36.9 and Carlos Ruiz 198th in 30:55.1. 

Lansing Community College won the national championship with a score of 32 points and Macomb Community College (9th, 357) was the only other MCCAA team to finish ahead of the Roadrunners.
