Tyshaun McPherson Chooses the Roadrunners

Tyshaun McPherson of King High School in Chicago, Illinois, has signed his NJCAA Letter of Intent and will continue his education and basketball career this fall at SMC.

Head Coach Rodell Davis said, "We are thrilled to welcome Tyshaun to SMC.  He brings a great combination of character, work ethic, and athletic ability that aligns perfectly with our program's values.Tyshaun is an outstanding young man who will make a strong impact both on campus and within our program. His length and athleticism make him an excellent fit for our style of play on both ends of the court, and his presence will add immediate value to our roster.

Having played organized basketball for just four years, Tyshaun's upside is especially exciting. His development trajectory suggests that his best basketball is still ahead of him, and we are eager to support his continued growth on and off the court."

McPherson joins Joseph Jones of Crete, Illinois; Keithan Gilmore of West Bloomfield; Brayden Favors of Niles; Tyrese Moody and Brieland Watkins of Grand Rapids and Kenaz Jackson, Jr. and Myair Thompson, both of Kankakee, Illinois, as new players on the 2026-2027 SMC Men's Basketball squad.
