Men's Cagers Win vs. Wolves

SMC Men's Basketball practiced well all week and it showed Saturday in a physical contest vs. the visiting Timberwolves of North Central Michigan. The Roadrunners built a 29-10 lead and were up 45-23 at the break. North Central kept battling, scored the first five points of the second half and creeped a bit closer by beating the home team down low, but SMC adjusted, got some tough buckets and pulled away to win by 35.

 

The Roadrunners were led by freshman Jovi Ratliff with 19 points on 8 of 14 shooting, sophomore Davion Goins double-doubled with 18 points plus a dozen rebounds, freshman Deuce Weston added 16 and sophomore Damontae May double-doubled with 10 points and 10 rebounds. 

 

Conference play for the 7-7 Roadrunners begins in a week as the Marian Ancilla Chargers visit the 1st Source Bank Fieldhouse on January 10.
