SMC MBB Wins Five MCCAA Awards
The MCCAA Western Conference honored four SMC Men's Basketball players in the end-of-season awards on Wednesday.
Sophomore Prince Adams was named to the All-Defensive Team and Honorable Mention, All-Conference for the MCCAA Western Conference. Adams holds all three SMC block records, and this season had 188 points, 177 rebounds, 39 assists and 20 steals.
Freshman Davion Goins also earned Honorable Mention, All-Conference for the West. Goins was the 2nd-leading scorer for the Roadrunners with 353 points, and also had 141 rebounds, 43 assists and 29 blocks in 29 games.
Sophomore Rodell Davis, Jr. was named Third Team, All-Conference. RJ is the SMC 3-point leader for game (9), season (69) and career (132). He is an impressive 40.0% 3-point shooter for his career.
Sophomore Aries Hull won Second Team, All-Conference in the West. AJ is the SMC record holder for multiple categories in points, rebounds, and free throws. He anchored the Roadrunners in 27 games, led the team with 487 points, pulled down 290 rebounds and double-doubled an incredible 18 times in the 2024-25 season.
The Men's Basketball Roadrunners have had three consecutive winning seasons since reviving the program in 2022 after a 26-year hiatus. In the 2024-25 campaign, SMC knocked off #2-ranked South Suburban on the road, breaking the Bulldogs' 65-game home win streak. They finished with an overall record of 16-13 and set 35 team and individual school records during the year.
