Roadrunners Come Back Big to Beat Lansing

Roadrunners Come Back Big to Beat Lansing

Well, that was entertaining.

The SMC men's basketball team fought back from a 13-point deficit in the second half, keyed by defense, rebounding, and Rashawn Bost's deep dimes to dim the Stars of Lansing in a rowdy 1st Source Bank Fieldhouse, 79-73.

The Roadrunners shook off another slow start and dug out of an 11-point hole in the first half to trim the lead to four at the break, In the second, Lansing boosted the lead to as much as 13, before the Roadrunners buckled down and ran past the visiting team for the win.

Bost shot 6-13 (46%) from behind the arc and 9-17 overall to lead the team with 24 points. Sean Burress double-doubled with 19 points and 10 rebounds, Mari Nichols added 17, and Mikel Forrest had 12 points and 9 rebounds off the bench.

SMC is now 8-1 at home, 11-6 overall and 2-2 in the MCCAA Western Conference as they head into a rivalry matchup at Glen Oaks on Wednesday, February 1.
